Psychosocial hazards training for Gold Coast & Brisbane workplaces
Since 1 April 2023, Queensland employers have been required to manage psychosocial hazards, such as high job demands, poor support, bullying and harassment, with the same care as physical safety risks. MindTune Collective helps managers and teams understand those hazards and put practical controls in place, through engaging face-to-face workshops across the Gold Coast, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
Psychological safety is now a WHS obligation
Under Queensland's Code of Practice, employers must identify psychosocial hazards, assess the risks, put controls in place and review them, eliminating risks so far as is reasonably practicable, or minimising them where they can't be eliminated. Managers are often the first to see these risks, but many have never been shown how to recognise them or what to do next.
Common psychosocial hazards include:
- High or low job demands
- Low job control
- Poor support from managers or colleagues
- Lack of role clarity
- Poorly managed organisational change
- Inadequate reward and recognition
- Conflict and poor workplace relationships
- Bullying and harassment
- Exposure to traumatic events
- Remote or isolated work
Good training gives leaders the language, confidence and tools to spot these hazards early, consult with their teams, and choose effective controls. Every MindTune workshop is built around the hierarchy of controls, focusing first on how work is designed and managed rather than relying on individual resilience alone.

Psychosocial safety training FAQs
Is psychosocial hazards training mandatory in Queensland?
Queensland's Managing the risk of psychosocial hazards at work Code of Practice 2022 does not prescribe one specific course. However, employers must manage psychosocial risks like any other health and safety risk, and providing information, training, instruction and supervision is part of every employer's general WHS duty. Training helps managers recognise hazards and apply controls, but it does not replace your own risk assessment and control measures.
What are psychosocial hazards?
Psychosocial hazards are aspects of work that can cause psychological or physical harm. Common examples include high or low job demands, low job control, poor support, lack of role clarity, poorly managed organisational change, inadequate recognition, conflict, bullying, harassment including sexual harassment, exposure to traumatic events, and remote or isolated work.
Do you deliver training on site?
Yes. Workshops are delivered face to face at your workplace across the Gold Coast, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Other locations in South East Queensland can be arranged on request.
Can the training be tailored to our industry?
Yes. Every workshop is tailored to your workforce, industry and the hazards most relevant to your teams, whether you are in construction, health and aged care, disability services, hospitality, local government or professional services.
Can you deliver training in languages other than English?
Yes. Sessions can be delivered in Spanish or Portuguese, or adapted for culturally and linguistically diverse teams, so every worker can take part and be consulted properly.
How much does psychosocial safety training cost?
Pricing depends on the format, group size and location. Get in touch for a tailored quote. Most organisations start with a half-day manager workshop.
Is this legal or clinical advice?
No. MindTune Collective provides education and training. It is not legal advice and does not replace advice from a WHS or legal professional. Workers who need individual clinical support should be referred to your Employee Assistance Program or a health professional.
